Manager – Marine Operations & CSO

Responsibilities

  • As part of Marine Operations Team; Manage and Monitor LSA and FFE Maintenance and arrange Services as required for the assigned fleet
  • Act as Company Security officer for the assigned fleet
  • Ensuring the development of SSPs and relevant Security manuals and procedures , their submission for approval and placement on board each ship;
  • Monitoring the continued relevance and effectiveness of the SSP, and ensuring it is modified as appropriate, to correct any deficiencies and satisfy all security requirements of the individual ship;
  • Arrange internal security audits and reviews of security activities and take a leading role in Security incident investigations and other marine investigation as assigned ;
  • Ensuring that deficiencies and non-conformities (or failures) identified during internal audits, periodic reviews, marine safety inspections, security inspections and verifications of compliance, are promptly addressed and dealt with;
  • Ensuring adequate training for personnel responsible for security of the ship in liaison with third part security agency ;
  • Ensuring effective communication and co-operation between the SSO and the relevant PFSO’s;
  • Co-ordinating all involved Third Party Security agencies as required.
  • As part of Marine Operations team; Support Nautical Affairs with Updating Bridge Procedures
  • As part of the Marine Operations team conduct Marine Safety Inspection as per Annual Marine Safety Inspection Schedule for the assigned Fleet.

Your Profile:

  • Excellent communication skills and intercultural competence as well as the ability to interact and cooperate with various levels of clientele (on board and ashore)
  • Adequate sailing experience on cruise vessels as Deck Officer and previous experience working in a capacity of Deck& Safety Superintendent is desirable
  • Knowledge of applicable international and national codes, guidelines, and conventions such as ISM Code, ISPS Code, LSA Code and FFS Code
  • Previous knowledge of managing Budget
  • Fluent in English
  • Organized and team-oriented mind-set
  • A high degree of reliability and loyalty
  • Good knowledge of MS Office package
  • This position requires you to be available for emergency response outside of normal working hours, as well as being willing to travel on short notice
